About Beachmap
Beachmap is a free interactive map of 361 of Europe's best beaches across 31 countries — each plotted on a spinning globe with the details that matter: sea temperature, sand, best season, swimming and surf.
How the data is made
The dataset is hand-curated, beach by beach. Each entry records the beach's coordinates, its typical warm-season sea-surface temperature (rounded, indicative — actual readings vary year to year), the sand or shore type, the months when it is at its best, swimming conditions, surf quality, its setting, and Blue Flag status where held. Photographs come from Wikimedia Commons and are credited to their photographers on every page.
